The Shop
Sacrifices Hair Studio is East Austin's modern barbershop — six independent barbers under one roof at 2931 E 12th, in the heart of 78702. Open Tuesday through Saturday, walk-ins welcome whenever a chair is open.
The shop was built by Javier Blendz, who still cuts here as the owner-operator. He rented chairs at other shops before this one. Then he built the one he wanted — the kind of place where every barber sets their own rates, runs their own book, and brings their own loyal clients. Six chairs deep. One shared roof.
Every barber at Sacrifices is the lead of their own brand. We're not a chain. There's no manager assigning you to whoever's next. You browse the crew, you pick the barber whose work fits what you want, and you book them direct.
The Founder
Before Sacrifices, Javier was renting a chair at someone else's shop. The decision to open his own came with all the construction-mode pictures you'd expect — black-painted ceiling, primer on the walls, drop cloths on a concrete floor, ladders and paint cans everywhere. He documented the build.
Once the shop was finished, he brought five more barbers in. Today Javier still cuts at one of those chairs as the owner. The other five are independent operators who chose to set up here.
